2021年8月、大雨の降る大阪にて。
あめちゃんは道路のすみっこで大粒の雨に打たれ、
びしょびしょになって震えていました。
それでもにゃあにゃあと大きな声で鳴いて
一生懸命お母さんを呼んでいるようでした。
周囲に親兄弟は見つからず、保護することに。
その後病院へ連れていくと特に怪我もなく元気で、
推定生後3週間程度、体重はわずか280gでした。

はじめは先住犬の介護など色々な懸念があり、
その命の重さから簡単に我が家でお迎えすることを
決意できず、里親さんを募集していました。
しかしあめちゃんと一緒に暮らしていくなかで
あめちゃんへの愛情は膨らんでいくばかりでした。
また1番の懸念であった犬のもこちゃんは、
あめちゃんに触発されたのか、食欲を取り戻したり
二人仲良く触れ合ったりするようになりました。
そして家族会議を何度も重ねた結果、
あめちゃんを正式に我が家でお迎えし、
ずっと一緒に暮らしていくことを決めました。
